Donner Summit and Serene Lakes
Donner Summit offers four seasons of recreation. The surrounding forested region has many lakes, streams, meadows, trails, paths, campgrounds, all season resorts, and recreational activities. At an approximate elevation of 7300′ it 
is home to Sugar Bowl, Donner Ski Ranch and Boreal. Cross country skiers can enjoy one of California’s finest cross country ski resorts – Royal Gorge. These areas are located west of Truckee near Interstate 80.
Communities on Donner Summit include Serene Lakes, Soda Springs, PlaVada Woodlands, Kingvale, Norden, & Towle Mountain, offering a wide range of properties from small cabins to acreage parcels. Prices range from $235K for a condo in Soda Springs to $3 million for a custom home at Sugar Bowl.
